Structure of your studies

Your studies consist of 180 ECTS-achievementpoints (LP) and are divided into 

basic modules (during first and second semester)

  • Mathematics for Computer Science A (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Mathematics for Computer Science B (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Programming (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP exercise, 8 LP)
  • Introductory Programming Lab (3 SWS, 4 LP)
  • Digital Systems (3 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 7 LP)
  • Algorithms and Data Structures (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Computer Organization and Architecture (3 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 7 LP)
  • Programming (Practical Course) (3 SWS, 4 LP)

development modules (during third and fourth semester)

  • Mathematics for Computer Science C (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Logic in Computer Science (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Software Engineering (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Software project (3 SWS, 5 LP)
  • Operating systems (3 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 7 LP)
  • Advanced Programming (3 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 7 LP)
  • Practical Digital Design (3 SWS, 4 LP)

immersion modules (during fourth to sixth semester)

  • Information systems (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Introduction to theory of computation (4 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 8 LP)
  • Internet Communications (3 SWS lecture + 2 SWS exercise, 7 LP)

the optional compulsory sector of Computer Science (during the fifth and sixth semester)

  • modules of 16 LP.  The module database lists possible modules of the current courses offered by the university. 

the optional compulsory sector for multidisciplinary key qualifications (during fifth and sixth semester)

  • modules of 4 LP. The module database lists possible modules of the current courses offered by the university. Further modules can be chosen on request. 

the Computer Science seminar (in the 5th semester, 4 LP),

the final module, including the Bachelor's thesis (during the sixth semester, 15 LP)

as well as modules in an  application subject of your choice (17 LP).
