Computer Science as part of a dual subject degree program

A dual subject Bachelor program includes studying two subjects, each for 70 achievement points, writing a B.A. final thesis in one of the two subjects (10 achievement points) and studying a profile subject area (30 achievement points).

The three profile subject areas are subject supplement, teaching degree and Handelslehrer.

Your study course plan will differ if you choose Mathematics as your second subject.

Subject Supplement

Students who chose the profile Subject Supplement need to achieve 30 ECTS-points in the profile subject area subject supplement on top of their other two subjects.

In the profile subject supplement students can gain extra practical qualifications. They can develop their own profile for their later career from the courses offered.

Teaching degree for secondary schools

The profile teaching degree for secondary schools is for students who want to teach at secondary schools once they have successfully finished their Bachelor's degree and the Master of Education.

Current information and an overview of all offered modules for the profile teaching degree for secondary schools can be found on the homepage of the Center for Teacher Training www.zfl.uni-kiel.de.

Notifications for courses on subject didactics of Computer Science are published together with other courses of Computer Science as part of a dual subject degree in the Univis.

Handelslehrer/in

To choose the profile "Handelslehrer" one of your subjects has to be Economics and Business Studies. The B.A. final thesis has a scope of 10 achievement points and the profile Handelslehrer a scope of 30 achievement points.

Students who want to teach at economic schools and secondary schools after finishing their Bacheor's and Master's degree should choose the dual subject Bachelor's degree program with the profile Handelslehrer.

If choosing the profile Handelslehrer, you have to follow the following modules:

  • Subject Didactics in Economics and Business Studies (5,5 LP) and the other subject (2,5 LP)

  • · Practical module and a training course at school (4 LP) and the preparatory subject didactic courses (3 LP in both subjects),

  • ·Module: Basics of Vocational and Business Pedagogics (6 LP)

  • ·Module: Reflexive Reference Systems for Vocational and Business Pedagogics  (6 LP)
